- You'll be looking for a single file with the extension
.serumpreset. - This file is typically found in your Downloads folder, or wherever you saved it after purchasing/downloading it.
Step 2: Open the Serum Menu ⚙️
Load an instance of the Serum 2 VST/AU into your Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, or FL Studio.
- Look for the Menu option within the Serum interface. It's usually located in the top right corner of the window.
- Click on the Menu to open the dropdown list of options.
Step 3: Use the 'Import Preset Pack' Feature 📥
This is the key step that automates the whole installation!
- From the Menu dropdown, select the option "Import Preset Pack".
- This action will open a standard file browser window.
Step 4: Select and Open the File ✅
Now, you'll point Serum to the file you found in Step 1.
-
Navigate to your download folder (or the location where you saved the
.serumpresetfile). - Select the
.serumpresetfile. - Click "Open" (or double-click the file).
That's it! Serum will automatically extract the presets, move them to the correct internal folder structure, and make them available immediately.
Step 5: Check Your New Presets! ✨
To confirm the installation was successful:
- Go to the main Preset Browser inside Serum.
- You should now see a new folder listed, typically named after the preset pack you just installed.
