The Vision

When we set out to create Yucahu, our goal was clear: to capture the energetic and ecstatic sounds of Puerto Rico’s urban music scene. Our talented producer, K Towers, drew inspiration from both vintage and contemporary influences, blending them seamlessly to craft a unique auditory experience.

“For the latest addition to Black Lotus’ collection of packs, Yucahu, I aimed to mix sounds from vintage and modern synths with iconic drum sounds,” explains K Towers. “The recent works from producers like Tainy and Hassi served as inspiration for the melodic loops. Their sounds are full, warm, and textured.”

Crafting the Melodies

The melodic loops in Yucahu are a testament to the evolving soundscape of Latin music. Inspired by the innovative works of Tainy and Hassi, these loops are rich, warm, and filled with intricate textures.

Each melody was meticulously crafted to provide producers with the tools they need to create tracks that stand out.

“Melodic loops are the heart of any track. I wanted to ensure that every loop in Yucahu could serve as the foundation for a hit song. The textures and warmth were crucial elements that I focused on to achieve this.”

“The punch and bounce of the drum loops were inspired by the early days of reggaeton. DJ Playero, DJ Nelson, and Nesty defined the genre as we know it today. Their influence is evident in the energy and movement that Yucahu’s drum loops provide.”
